For several years, I ran a website which invited requests for drawings. It was a free service and quickly got so popular I couldn’t afford the surplus bandwidth fees. While it lasted, I enjoyed the challenge of responding to diverse suggestions and exploring/defining my illustrative style. Many visitors used my artwork for tattoos, so I set up a store selling temporary tattoos as well as prints and tshirts. My strong web presence led to illustration and design commissions. Ultimately it was too much work for one person to squeeze into spare time around a day job and parenting.
